Joe and Anthony Russo’s upcoming Netflix film The Gray Man has just added Ana De Armas (Knives Out, NO TIME TO DIE) to its cast. She will star alongside Ryan Gosling (La La Land, Blade Runner 2019) and Chris Evans (Avengers: Endgame, Knives Out) in the upcoming action thriller, which stands as the steamer’s biggest budgeted feature to date.
The Russos penned the script which is set to receive a once-over by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The debut novel by Mark Greaney, first published in 2009 by Jove Books, is the first novel to feature the Gray Man, a freelance assassin and former CIA operative Court Gentry. Presented to audiences as an action drama, The Gray Man follows Gentry (Gosling) as he’s hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a former cohort of Gentry’s at the CIA. The film is based on the first installment of the best-selling The Gray Man book series.
After turning heads with her performance as Marta Cabrera for Rian Johnson’s Knives Out, De Armas was cast in Cary Joji Fukunaga’s Bond film No Time to Die. De Armas plays Paloma in the upcoming film, which will serve as Daniel Craig’s final bow as the iconic super spy. De Armas is also set to star opposite Ben Affleck and Rachel Blanchard in Deep Water, a thriller from director Adrian Lyne that is scheduled for an August 13, 2021 release. Last but obviously not least, De Armas will step into the role of Norma Jeane for Blonde, a fictionalized chronicle of the inner life of Marilyn Monroe.
