When we first got our hands on a trailer for the horror anthology Bad Candy last October, it wasn’t clear exactly when the movie was going to be released. Now the details have been revealed: Bad Candy will be receiving a limited theatrical release this Friday, September 10th. An On Demand release follows on September 14th, with a Blu-ray release following shortly after. I have seen both September 28th and October 12th listed as the release date for the Blu-ray, but if you pre-order a copy from Amazon at THIS LINK it says the release date is November 9th. Just ahead of all these release dates, we have a clip that shows off some of the film’s creepy clown action. Watch the clip in the embed above, where it’s followed by the trailer.
Starring Zach Galligan (Gremlins) and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Bad Candy was written and directed by Scott B. Hansen and Desiree Connell. The film brings us
local Halloween stories of both myth and lessons learned in the community of New Salem. With its annual Psychotronic FM Halloween show, re-enactment radio DJs Chilly Billy and Paul weave the tales of the supernatural of years gone by. In this small town it’s a grimy ending for most, but will a few good souls survive?
Galligan and Taylor are joined in the cast by Michael Aaron Milligan, Derek Russo, Haley Leary, Brittney Rae, Kevin Wayne, Bill Pacer (who can be seen opposite the clown in that clip), Alexandra Lucchesi, and Kenneth Trujillo.
I tend to enjoy anthologies (the two Creepshow movies being my favorites) and Bad Candy looks like a fun one to me, so I will probably be watching it at some point this Halloween season.
