Sayagues wrote Don’t Breathe and Don’t Breathe 2 with Fede Alvarez. Alvarez directed the first film, but passed the directing duties on the sequel over to Sayagues. The story they crafted for the sequel is set
several years after the home invasion of the first movie, with the Blind Man living in quiet solace… until his past sins catch up to him.
The Blind Man has been hiding out for years in an isolated cabin and has taken in and raised a young girl orphaned from a house fire. Their quiet existence is shattered when a group of kidnappers show up and take the girl, forcing the Blind Man to leave his safe haven to save her.
Stephen Lang reprises the role of the Blind Man and is joined in the cast by Brendan Sexton III, Adam Young, Bobby Schofield, Rocci Williams, and Madelyn Grace.
Sayagues and Alvarez also produced Don’t Breathe 2 with Rob Tapert and genre icon Sam Raimi.
I watched the film when it reached VOD and found it entertaining, but nowhere near the level of the first movie. This was more along the lines of an action movie where it was just fun to watch the Blind Man wreck other bad guys.
