Pastor Troy is giving back to the community that once raised him ahead of the holidays. According to WSBTV, the “Vica Versa” emcee teamed up with Central Station Sports Restaurant in College Park to feed more than 70 families before the Christmas holiday. Additionally, he and the restaurant also hosted a toy giveaway for many kids in the community.

“We’re just giving back to the hood,” he told the outlet. “I’m from the Southside of town and I grew up and went to elementary school there. It’s been difficult. People just want a break and some normalcy for the holidays.”

Earlier this week, Pastor Troy participated in the first annual “ATL Hoe, Hoe, Hoe Virtual Christmas Show.” The show included a star-studded line up including, the Ying Yang Twinz, Fabo, Princess (Crime Mob), Trillville, Bonecrusher, Young Bloodz and many more.

The I Said What I Said emcee isn’t the only one giving back during the holiday season. Lil Baby is gifting residents in Alabama with winter coats bought from profits made from his hit single, “The Bigger Picture.” As REVOLT previously reported, the “Emotionally Scarred” emcee will donate $1.5 million to several charities. “I don’t want to donate to just any organization, but I will be letting my fans know exactly where the money goes,” he tweeted last month. “Lawyers, bonds, playgrounds, jobs, youth activities, things that WE can really benefit off of.”

According to CBS 42, Lil Baby has contributed 1,000 winter coats to the city’s Winter Warm Wishes Coat Giveaway, which will take place for Birmingham residents on Monday, Dec. 28.

“I’m so excited that rapper Lil Baby has chosen to support Birmingham’s District 9 communities,” John Hilliard, a Birmingham City Councilor, said in a statement. “With COVID-19’s critical impact on our communities, I find it honorable that someone with his influence would provide such an essential resource to our residents.”

Always good to see people giving back to their communities.
