Ted Lasso, Jason Sudeikis, Apple, Season 3

Apple’s Ted Lasso just scored some major points by getting an early Season 3 renewal. The comedy that my Twitter feed won’t shut up about stars Saturday Night Live alum Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer. To give you an idea as to how early the renewal is, production on Season 2 in London doesn’t even begin until January of next year.

Co-written by Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence, Ted Lasso also stars Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, Nick Mohammed, and Juno Temple, among several others. Currently, Ted Lasso is Apple’s number one comedy across all top 50 countries, including the U.S., UK, Germany, France, Canada, Russia, Japan, and more. It’s also been reported that the show’s viewership numbers are outrageous, with more than 600% growth thanks in part to binge-watchers. It’s also worth noting that a vast percentage of those watching have watched the show to completion, which is not always the case for even the best of shows.

Have you watched Ted Lasso? What can you tell me about it? Will its humor be lost on me on account of my not being a sports fanatic? I’m genuinely curious. I keep hearing great things. Let us know what you think of the show in the comments section below.
