Grab your sunscreen, your most flattering bathing suit, and get ready to embark on the most miserable family vacation in human history! MGM has released the final trailer for The Addams Family 2, which finds the Addams family escaping their haunted manor and hitting the open road.
The adventure begins when Morticia and Gomez find that their children, Wednesday and Pugsley, have grown weary of their surroundings. To help them reconnect with one another, the family plans a road trip that will either bring them together or tear them apart beyond repair. Throughout the journey, the family visit several famous locations, including Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon. Neither will ever be the same after Pugsley has his way with them, so I hope you’re ready for landscapes to change in the name of chaos.
The Addams Family 2 finds actors from the animated original reprising their roles, including Oscar Isaac as Gomez Addams, Charlize Theron as Morticia Addams, Chloë Grace Moretz as Wednesday Addams, Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, Bette Midler as Grandmama, and Snoop Dogg as Cousin IT. The sequel also welcomes Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton as the new voice of Pugsley. Wallace Shawn and Bill Hader also star.
“Everyone’s favorite spooky family is back in the animated comedy sequel,” reads the official synopsis. “In this all-new movie, we find Morticia and Gomez distraught that their children are growing up, skipping family dinners, and totally consumed with “scream time.” To reclaim their bond they decide to cram Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester, and the crew into their haunted camper and hit the road for one last miserable family vacation. Their adventure across America takes them out of their element and into hilarious run-ins with their iconic cousin, It, as well as many new kooky characters. What could go wrong?”
The Addams Family 2 is directed by Conrad Vernon, and Greg Tiernan from a screenplay written by Dan Hernandez, Benji Samit, Ben Queen, and Susanna Fogel.
The Addams Family 2 is scheduled to be released in theaters and on digital services on October 1st.
