The description of the invoice reads, “Per diem while in Los Angeles for showcase The Killers Paula Moore demo.” Moore, the current CEO of the GREATERTHAN app and former A&R executive at WMG, shared The Killers’ tweet on her LinkedIn while giving the backstory of the “big time” $25 check.

“So happy to be the first to believe in these guys, and bring them out to showcase for me and my A&R colleagues at Warner Music Group, especially the illustrious Seymour Stein, who gave me incredible support on this discovery,” she wrote in her post. “I’m so proud of what they’ve accomplished. The scouting program I created that discovered them then was so special when I was an A&R executive at WMG.”

The Killers enjoyed a much greater payday in November when Eldridge acquired the band’s pre-2020 song catalog, including “Mr. Brightside,” “Human,” “When You Were Young” and more. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Killers have generated 10.8 million album consumption units worth of activity in the U.S., according to Nielsen/MRC Data, and according to the announcement of the publishing deal, have sold 28 million albums worldwide.

Their most recent album, Imploding the Mirage, earned the rock band its third No. 1 album on Billboard‘s Top Rock Albums chart last fall.
