The Bluff, Zoe Saldana, Frank E. Flowers, Netflix

Avast me hearties! It would appear as if the upcoming pirate drama Bluff is setting sail for Netflix. Directed by Frank E. Flowers (Haven) from a script he co-wrote with Joe Ballarini, this in-demand project stars Zoe Saldana (I Kill GiantsGuardians of the Galaxy, AVATAR). Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, and Angela Russo-Otstot are producing for AGBO, alongside Mariel and Cisely Saldana for Cinestar.

According to Deadline, Bluff is set in the Cayman Islands in the 1800s and Saldana plays Ercell, a Caribbean woman whose secret past is revealed when her island is invaded by vicious buccaneers. It’s also been said that the aim of the movie is to “blend visceral action and historical fiction to create a real action vehicle as the heroine fights against the atrocities committed by the pirates.” There’s also room for a second female lead who will play the dastardly head pirate.

Saldana is an in-demand actress right now if there ever was one. In addition to reprising her role as Neytiri for James Cameron’s Avatar sequels, her film with filmmaker Marco Perego Saldana is now in post-production. She’s also set to star in Shawn Levy’s The Adam Project, which stars Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Catherine Keener, which revolves around a man who must travel back in time to get help from his 13-year-old self.

Are you up for sailing the Seven Seas with Zoe Saldana? Personally, I’d follow her anywhere, even if it’s to the bottom of Davy Jones’ Locker. We’ve all got to go eventually, right? Death by Zoe Saldana sounds like a fine way to go.
